The Boston Celtics have recently defeated the New York Knicks, behind Jaylen Brown’s 23-point triple-double performance. There is no doubt that this was a good win for the Boston Celtics, and an amazing night for Brown himself as it was the first triple-double of his career.

Kendrick Perkins has recently lauded Jaylen Brown’s performance after the game but took a jab at Jayson Tatum in the process. Perkins stated that Brown played a “perfect game while Jayson Tatum went 6/14 from the field”.

Jaylen Brown completely took over this game with his first triple double of his career! Played a perfect game while Jayson Tatum went 6/14 from the field. They got the win tho! Carry on…

Jayson Tatum clapped back at Kendrick Perkins for the Tweet and claimed that “it’s alright” to simply say that Jaylen Brown played a good game without bringing him down for his performance. Tatum didn’t necessarily have a poor outing either, as he tallied 19 points, albeit slightly inefficiently.

Normalizing uplifting one man without bringing another one down… JB played great it’s alright to leave it at that

Later on, Kendrick Perkins responded to the call out from Jayson Tatum and claimed that his statement is “not bringing you down”. Perkins added that he’s ready to see both players “have great games at the same time”.

It’s not bringing you down homeboy! My point is that I’m ready to see both of you have great games at the same time! Just like the rest of the world we want to see if y’all can co exist and I’m standing on that! Carry on youngster…

We’ll see if Jayson Tatum provides a further response. A lot of people have questioned Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown’s fit together, as the two haven’t been able to help the Celtics win consistently despite playing well on an individual level. However, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are talented, and perhaps they’ll be able to figure things out.

The Boston Celtics have two top-tier wing players and keeping them together could mean good things in the future. While there have been suggestions that Jaylen Brown should be moved for a star that’s a better fit like Ben Simmons, the Celtics have opted against that so far. We’ll see if that continues.
