Golden State Warriors star Andrew Wiggins is having a terrific season with the Dubs, picking things where he left them last season and improving his level, becoming one of the most surprising players in the league.

Following a rocky stint with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Wiggins has seemingly found his place in the world in the Bay, meshing incredibly well with the Warriors, helping the squad become one of the two best teams in the association. All his hard work has paid off, and Wiggins earned his first All-Star game call as a starter for the Western Conference.

The Warriors are having a terrific season. It was expected that Stephen Curry would be selected for the big game. Wiggins made a surprising appearance (at least as a starter), but he has a solid case to be part of the mid-season event.

Making his 1st #NBAAllStar appearance… Andrew Wiggins of the @warriors.

However, there might be an X-factor for Wiggins selection, as the Dubs used their platform and ambassadors to help their players make it to the game. Alex Schultz of SFGATE writes that K-Pop star ‘BamBam’ could have played a major role in Wiggins’ selection thanks to all his fans.

BamBam, who’s part of the K-Pop band GOT7, is a global ambassador of the Warriors. He took his ‘job’ very seriously, helping Stephen Curry and Wiggins get votes through his large fanbase.

Between retweets and quote tweets, the message has been shared by 40K users on Twitter. It has amassed 68.3K likes to this day, which shows the impact of BamBam on his fans.

Wiggs was announced a starter for the Western Conference on Thursday night, joining LeBron James (captain), Stephen Curry, Nikola Jokic, and Ja Morant. It’s been a great season for the Canadian player, who can only improve his level. In 45 games, Wiggins is posting 18.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists, while shooting 48.3% from the field and 41.2% from beyond the arc.

K-Pop fans are very loyal to their idols and that played in Wiggins’ favor this time. It’s great to see that Andrew received this big support, but there’s no doubt he deserved to be part of the game. Congrats, Maple Jordan!
