There was a time when Zach LaVine wasn’t looked at as just a high-flying dunker in the NBA. But LaVine’s career has changed since joining the Chicago Bulls in 2017.

Since then, LaVine has earned two NBA All-Star appearances (2021, 2022) as well. Anyway, Karl-Anthony Towns recently talked about LaVine’s time with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Towns had nothing but praise for his former teammate.

“What? He’s one of the best scorers I’ve ever seen in my life. And I’m a scorer,” Towns said in a recent episode of Pat Bev Podcast with Rone. “I’m a scorer and I’ve never seen some of the s**t that he do. And he got no feelings for pressure or nothing. It’s just straight bucket work… His three ball’s so pure. He worked so hard on his game.”

Towns added: “You be forgetting he tore his ACL. The way he be moving, and the way he be working out, you don’t be thinking he needs to take it easy. And he grinds – I worked out with him in Seattle with his pops. Man, that man was running football fields. I was like, ‘No.’ He was doing the Tim Hardaway joints. He cold.”

LaVine spent three seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He averaged 13.7 PPG, 2.9 RPG, and 3.2 APG during that time span. But LaVine has taken his game to the next level since joining the Bulls. LaVine has averaged 24.5 PPG, 4.6 RPG, and 4.4 APG over six seasons for the Bulls.

Chicago Bulls Could Trade Zach LaVine

Zach LaVine may have elevated his game to the next level, but he’s yet to lead the Chicago Bulls to a meaningful run in the postseason.

In the last six seasons, the Bulls have advanced to the playoffs just once in 2022, and that was a first-round exit. Following a play-in tournament loss vs. the Miami Heat in 2023, the Bulls have reportedly decided to move on from LaVine.

“Wishful executives will keep their eyes peeled on Portland and Damian Lillard, but it’s the Chicago Bulls who have started contacting teams, quietly gauging the trade interest in Zach LaVine, league sources told Yahoo Sports. It remains to be seen just how willing Chicago is to part ways with LaVine, or if it receives a commensurate offer for his services.”

There’s certainly a market for LaVine, who is still 28 years old. If all goes well, LaVine could find himself on a contender to try to win the first NBA Championship of his career.
