Kendrick Perkins Fires A Shot At Brad Stevens: “There’s Speculation Because Of The Reports That Were Put Out By The Boston Celtics, So They Didn’t Do A Great Job From The Jump Of Actually Protecting The Women In Their Organization.”

Kendrick Perkins places some blame on the Boston Celtics for the speculation on the Ime Udoka situation that has adversely affected their female staffers.

The Boston Celtics have found themselves in a hot mess because of the whole Ime Udoka situation. No one was quite sure about what had gone on because of some vague reporting at first but it became clear soon enough that he had engaged in a relationship with a woman who is a member of the team staff.

It broke team rules and they suspended Udoka for the entire 2022-23 season in a move that sent shockwaves across the basketball world. We still don’t have clarity on what exactly transpired and the initial reporting on the situation has been heavily criticized as it led to the many female staffers on the Celtics having their names dragged into the situation.

Kendrick Perkins Fires A Shot At Brad Stevens

President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens and co-owner Wyc Grousbeck held a press conference in the wake of the situation, with the former getting quite emotional by all that had transpired. He expressed his support to their female staffers who have been put in a very unfortunate situation and stated that the Twitter speculation was very unfair to them. Stevens’ comments were the topic of conversation on NBA Today on ESPN and Kendrick Perkins stated that the Celtics organization is partly responsible for that speculation.

“I didn’t like Brad’s comments on this, and let me tell you why. Not the fact that he was taking up and protecting the women in the organization, but he said about the speculation and the Twitter bs, and things of that nature and how unfair it was to the women in the organization that is not involved in this particular situation and I get that. But why is there speculation?”

“There’s speculation because of the reports that were put out by the Boston Celtics, so they didn’t do a great job from the jump of actually protecting the women in their organization. Because, knowing they were going to give out this information, and go out and suspend Ime Udoka, just giving little details – it’s going to have people speculate. In my eyes, I feel that the Boston Celtics dropped the ball not only in protecting their entire franchise but protecting the women as well.”

We don’t know for sure what the source was for the initial reports and the thing is we most likely never will. It is just an unfortunate situation for everyone that has been caught up in it and the worrying part is that we can only see the tip of the iceberg.

Zach Lowe and Ramona Shelburne called it an ugly situation and that it is way worse than we think, which is a scary thought. Matt Barnes also withdrew his support for Udoka after finding out the details and unfortunately, all this kind of talk only leads to more speculation.
