Kevin Durant Fined $50,000 By The NBA For His NSFW Exchange With Michael Rappaport
Nets star Kevin Durant has had a number of brutal exchanges with his critics before, often going back-and-forth through Twitter in an attempt to make them look foolish online.
And while there haven't been any real consequences to his war with the Twitter verse, it seems he may have taken things too far in his latest scandal with U.S. comedian and actor, Michael Rappaport.
In a rather revealing post, Rap exposed a flurry of messages he received from KD, in which the 11x All-Star went on a profanity-laced tirade that included threats and even a mention of Rappaport's failed lawsuit.
This time, the NBA decided to take action, fining KD $50K for "offensive and derogatory language."
Usually, the NBA keeps a pretty long leash when it comes to what players are doing in their personal lives, and that includes their activity on social media.
But when a star of Durant's caliber uses language like that, it's not only damaging to Durant's image, it's also damaging to the image of the NBA as a whole. It's really no surprise they decided to step in and send a message.
