Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving landed in Brooklyn together in 2019, making fans dream about what this incredible duo could do in the league. However, things never worked out for these two, as injuries and controversies prevented them from showing their best level and taking the Nets to compete for a championship.

After nearly four years on the team, Kyrie decided to request a trade when nobody expected it, shocking the entire NBA world with this decision, especially his Nets teammates

The 2016 NBA champion is now on the Dallas Mavericks, ready to make a statement with Luka Doncic on the Texan team. This could get really interesting for the Mavs, as some people have already shown their worries about Irving’s fit with Luka Doncic and their different personalities.

Kevin Durant Didn’t Take Too Well Kyrie Irving’s Trade Request

Moreover, Kyrie stirred the pot with his trade request and following move to Dallas. While LeBron James expressed his disappointment after the Lakers failed to land Irving, Kevin Durant was also concerned about this in Brooklyn. KD was initially ‘shocked’ by the request, but there was more to that story that we’re learning about now.

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, KD was ‘upset’ after learning the shocking Kyrie news. However, the senior insider claims that it was unclear if Durant was mad at the Nets’ front office or Kyrie, who called him his best friends days before giving up on Durant and the Nets.

Via RealGM:

“I’ve been told that Kevin was upset when Kyrie asked for a trade. But the question I don’t have the answer to, and I’m not going to try to get in Kevin’s head, was he upset at the Nets or was he upset at Kyrie?”

The big question now surrounds Durant, who once again could be available for trades. The Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat have been mentioned as potential landing spots for the 2x NBA champion, but we’ll have to wait until next Thursday to see what the Brooklyn Nets decide to do with their superstar.
