Kevin Garnett Flames Timberwolves Owner Glen Taylor After His Attempt To Buy The Team Fails

1 Min Read

Kevin Garnett’s bid to buy the Minnesota Timberwolves has apparently come to an end. In an update on Instagram, KG revealed the news to disappointed fans, while also taking a shot at the current owner, Glen Taylor.

KG and Taylor have had a number of faceoffs over the years, including one instance in April of 2020, when KG called Taylor a “snake.” It’s still unclear what exactly the breakdown was in this case, but Taylor denies that Garnett ever tried to contact him about a sale.

“Kevin never contacted me at all saying that he was interested,” Taylor said in a phone call with The Athletic. “Nor was his name listed on any of the buying groups that asked for financial information to review.”

The Timberwolves have suffered from years of mediocrity, and there doesn’t seem to be a release coming any time soon. Between injuries, mismanagement, and poor culture, the team is in a bad way, and the stink is seeping down into the players’ performance on the court.

It remains to be seen what lies in store for the franchise, but an important step may be a fresh face in ownership.
