Not even a year removed from winning the NBA Championship, the Golden State Warriors are struggling to find the magic that carried them through the height of their dynasty.
With Stephen Curry sidelined again and the losses quickly piling up, this season is starting to look like a lost cause for the defending champs.
But in a chat with the media on Wednesday, Klay Thompson refused to show a lack of faith in his squad. Instead, he preached patience and demonstrated confidence that things will get better when Curry returns.
“The West is stacked, but at the end of the day your gotta go through who you gotta go through to win the whole thing and whether that’s in the Finals or in the first round there’s incredible talents. So there’s really no rounds off, there’s no gimme’s. We know what it takes. We gotta hold the fort down until Steph get back and just gotta get whole again.”

The Warriors know more than anyone what it takes to win at the highest level. As early as last summer, they achieved the pinnacle of basketball success and showed the world the dynasty is not dead yet.
Even now, at 29-29 on the season, the Warriors shouldn’t be underestimated or counted out in the battle for a championship.
Why Are The Warriors Struggling This Season?
It’s rare to see a championship team struggle this much during the season. While they can blame Stephen Curry’s injury for their troubles now, the team wasn’t very good even when he was on the floor this season.
All season long, fans and experts have tried to identify the source of Golden State’s problems, and Draymond Green refused to give any legitimacy to claims of a ‘championship hangover.’
“I don’t think it’s a championship hangover. It’s a will to want to defend,” said Draymond. “You’re not hungover at .500, 60 games into the season. You’re a loser if you’re still hungover at that point, so there’s no hangover…”
But regardless of what issues currently plague the Warriors, we have to trust that they can work it out and become the team we all saw torch the league for years.
In the meantime, the Dubs will have to stay afloat without their star player, and that’s where Thompson comes in. If he can come in and help offset Curry’s absence, it will go a long way toward keeping their playoff hopes alive.
