Kyrie Irving Says The Nets Wanted To Play Against Fully Healthy Lakers: “We’ll See Them Down The Line With A Whole Entire Healthy Lakers Team… I Know Everybody Wants That.”

Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets had a very good Thursday night against the Los Angeles Lakers, beating the purple and gold with a big score in their first battle of the year. The New Yorkers didn’t have Kevin Durant on the floor but James Harden and Irving did the job against the Californians, who didn’t have Anthony Davis on the court.

It seemed like Irving was on a mission against former teammate LeBron James and his new team, even trolling the King after he missed a free throw. After the game was over, Kyrie talked about his team’s performance but made it clear they wanted to face the best version of the Lakers, with AD on the floor and at a proper level.

“We knew that Bron was gonna go out and try to score a lot of points, so, we were relying on the other guys to make shots around him. So, we just wanted to come out and show why we’ve been able to go on this little streak and that’s just committing to the other end of the floor. Just being there for each other, rebounding, boxing out, doing the little details that create separation. We’ll see them down the line again and we look forward to it, with a whole entire healthy Lakers team, that’s what we really wanted and I know everybody wants that. I’m looking forward to the challenge and seeing them down the line.”

These two teams are considered the biggest favorites to play in the Finals for their respective conferences. Even Anthony Davis named the Nets as the Lakers’ biggest threat this season and after Thursday’s game, more fans will agree with that statement.

The Nets won the first battle of the season but the Lakers will have a rematch later, trying to revenge this defeat.
