The Los Angeles Lakers just added another rotational player to their squad. This time, the team has signed German guard, and former Boston Celtics guard Dennis Schroder. The veteran guard has been in the NBA for multiple seasons now and has had some decent seasons.
Generally a rotational option, Schroder is a decent shooter and is an underrated playmaker. Although the Lakers would have liked to have brought in a high-clip shooter, Schroder doesn’t seem to be a bad option. Given that the 29-year-old is decent at multiple aspects of the game, he is certainly a viable option for the Purple and Gold.
Fans Debate On Which Guard Should Start For The Lakers
With Schroder back with the squad, the Lakers now have a plethora of guards to choose from. The guard rotation now looks like Dennis Schroder, Russell Westbrook, Patrick Beverley, and Kendrick Nunn. While these 4 names aren’t anywhere near the top of the best guards list, each of them excels in different aspects of the game.
Given how different each of them is in their approach, many Lakers fans recently debated about which player actually starts for the team.

With Schroder now on the roster, many fans feel like Westbrook’s time might end with the Lakers. Although new head coach Darvin Ham has been persistent in telling the press that Westbrook is in his plans, it is highly likely that the Lakers might trade the superstar guard, eventually.
But if a trade is not sealed till the start of the season, we might end up seeing Westbrook start as the primary point guard and Patrick Beverley as the shooting guard for the team. With a decent enough bench, the Lakers have many players who can come and provide a spark to the Lakers’ offense. It will be interesting to see what kind of system coach Ham uses with the Lakers. Who do you think should start for the Lakers?
