LeBron James is known as a cheap person inside and outside the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar hasn’t changed a bit with age, and he recently made it clear he won’t pay for one feature that Twitter previously offered for free.

James stated that he’s not paying for Twitter Blue, and the little badge showing he’s a real profile will go.

“Welp guess my blue ✔️ will be gone soon because if you know me I ain’t paying the 5. ‍♂️,” LeBron tweeted early this Friday.

Welp guess my blue ✔️ will be gone soon cause if you know me I ain’t paying the 5. 🤷🏾‍♂️

This comes before Twitter starts a new era regarding the blue check. After it was launched globally, Twitter Blue will allow people to have the blue check for $8 per month ($11 per month on iOS and Android due to app store costs).

James isn’t doing any of this, and he’s ready to become just another regular Twitter user in the future. He’s had some issues with the platform after Elon Musk took over, even urging the controversial billionaire to take care of people using racist slurs upon his arrival.

He’s not feeling the new decisions and will keep the blue check as long as he can before the company removes it.

LeBron James Set To Lead Los Angeles Lakers To 2023 NBA Playoffs

Meanwhile, the 4x NBA champion keeps doing his thing on the court, trying to lead the Los Angeles Lakers back to the playoffs. LeBron recently returned from a foot injury and has been playing at a good level. The Lakers are 38-38 right now and can surpass the .500 mark tonight with a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Purple and Gold have had a changing season, but they are on the right track now. If LeBron James and Anthony Davis remain healthy, this team could create a lot of trouble around the league.

Even as the third-worst 3-point shooter in the league, James remains a threat, and the rest of the association is well aware of that. He knows Anthony Davis is the best partner for this job and won’t hesitate to call him out, which brings a lot of expectations to Lakers Nation.
