The NBA has received big news today, as one of the last mid-range masters decided to call it a career today.
After a prior retirement in 2021, LaMarcus Aldridge announces that he’s finishing his career for good. The big man had a very good career that could have been better if injuries didn’t show up.
“In the words of TB12, you only get one big, emotional retirement… so, on that note…I’m thankful for all the memories, family and friends I made throughout my career. It was one hell of a ride and I enjoyed every min! 12,” Aldridge shared on Friday.

Aldridge last played for the Brooklyn Nets in 2022, seeing action in 47 games, starting in 12 of them. The 16-year veteran played for the Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, and Brooklyn Nets during his tenure in the league, making good memories whenever he went.
LaMarcus Aldridge Had A 16-Season NBA Career
Aldridge posted 20,558 points during his career, to go along with 8,736 rebounds and 2,076 assists. The big man was one of the best players in his position during his best years, collecting 7 All-Star selections under his belt. He was a 5-time All-NBA, as well as the league’s 2007 Rookie of the Year.
Two years ago, Aldridge announced he was retiring from the game after revealing he was dealing with an irregular heartbeat. He could make a return to the league and signed a new deal with the Brooklyn Nets, but now his time has come, and Aldridge made the difficult decision.
Aldridge finishes his career averaging 19.1 points and 8.1 rebounds in 1,076 regular-season games. As stated before, he’s one of the last mid-range masters in the league, and the fans will miss a player of his caliber, and especially somebody who wasn’t involved in controversies.
He’s now 37, and we hope the best for the player in whatever he decides to do after his career is over.
