  • LeBron James reposted Deion Sanders’ message about smiling at the people who talk poorly about him
  • LeBron James sent a strong message of his own to the haters
  • The King reminded people that he doesn’t forget anything they say about him

LeBron James is arguably the most scrutinized athlete of his era, his prime has coincided with the advent of social media. And while LeBron rarely responds to the various critiques people are always throwing at him, he doesn’t forget.

Deion Sanders posted on social media on Thursday, talking about the people who talk poorly about him but still smile at him. And his words struck a chord with LeBron James, who shared his post with a message of his own.

“I have smiled at the people who have said the most terrible things about me and they think I don’t know,” Sanders wrote in his post.

LeBron James followed it up by writing, “Do It All The Time! And by now they should know I don’t forget a dang on thing!!”

LeBron James received a lot of criticism for the Russell Westbrook era of the Los Angeles Lakers, as a recent example, but that isn’t all. There are media members like Skip Bayless who have grown massive simply by criticizing James at every opportunity.

Rich Paul Says The Scrutiny Is What Makes LeBron James The GOAT

LeBron James will turn 39 years old this year and is going into his 21st NBA season. There’s nothing he hasn’t heard about himself. James has been accused of not having a killer mentality, creating superteams, not being clutch, and not being a great scorer, among other things.

Social media has made these takes much worse, too, with the scrutiny continuing around the clock. And Rich Paul recently said that this is what makes James the GOAT over Michael Jordan

“Mike transcended the game,” Rich Paul said on the Gils Arena Show. “When Kobe came, Kobe was a silhouette of Mike. That’s everything, which is great.

“But LeBron is the first player to have to deal with a 24/7, 365 news cycle of sports and opinions from those that are not even capable or carry the expertise to give a valid opinion. That’s something Mike never had to deal with.

LeBron James is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer and is the first to achieve nearly every scoring milestone in his career. The fact that people still try to discredit his greatness but he keeps on proving them wrong is truly remarkable.

LeBron James Has A History Of Trying To Shut Down His Haters

LeBron James came into the NBA as the ‘Chosen One’ in 2003, and the hype around him transcended everything else that came before. There were naturally people who wanted him to fail.

And while LeBron James has largely stayed away from controversy, he hasn’t been above responding to those haters. A perfect example of this was when LeBron James slammed his critics after his loss in the 2011 NBA Finals

“At the end of the day, all the people that was rooting on me to fail, they got to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today.

“They got the same personal they had today and I’m gonna continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things that I wanna do.”

It’s evident that LeBron James hears all the noise around him, and he has proved people wrong time and time again. If this is the energy he is taking into the 2023-24 season, some early bets on the Los Angeles Lakers to win the NBA championship might be an excellent idea.
