LeBron James can make history in the next few days. Yes, we are talking about the fact that the Los Angeles Lakers superstar will easily break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record. The King is just 65 points away from making history.

Most should be talking about LeBron’s achievement for the next few days due to the fact that the day Bron breaks the record will be historic. But it seems like some sections of the media still want to make sure that LeBron James never surpassed Michael Jordan in the eyes of the fans. No, we are not claiming that, but an NBA fan on Twitter started this conspiracy theory.

The fan pointed out three instances where the media and Michael Jordan tried to diminish James’ accomplishments in the NBA. First, when LeBron led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a comeback against the Golden State Warriors after being down 3-1 in the 2016 NBA Finals. Second, when LeBron won the fourth NBA ring of his career, ESPN’s ‘The Last Dance’ was released online.

And finally, after LeBron James was on the verge of breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record, ESPN posted MJ’s highlights, claiming it to be Michael Jordan day.

What Is Michael Jordan Day?

Michael Jordan wore the iconic #23 jersey for the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards. As a result, ESPN posted Jodan’s career highlights and whatnot on February 03, 2023.

After seeing this post, NBA fans on Instagram had a supportive reaction to LeBron James. Here are some of the best reactions below the original post:

luv_jr9: They’re doing everything in their power to make sure LeBron doesn’t pass Jordan in everyone’s eyes.

masonfoster21: Dudes Scared as f**k that LeBrons breaking the scoring record and becoming the goat (already is).

te.rrence_: Bro is legit scared Bron boutta dethrone him as the goat.

tuckerrashad: Ok but they just better do this for Kobe next year 2/4/24.

9x.different: What more information do they have on jordan man we done seen and heard everything already.

samirrwya: MJ always up to something when bron bouta do sum big.

g.i.3.0: Bro if he ain’t dropping sneakers who actually gives a f**k about this dude.

akfields1: Still scared of Lebron I see.

pomade2364: You do know MJ has nothing to do with this but ESPN.

remykillz: King James is already the greatest: this is actually LBJ day .

NBA fans were frustrated with ESPN for declaring February 03, 2023, as Michael Jordan day. Many believe that it was simply done to take away the attention from LeBron’s achievements.

On that note, a documentary on Jordan’s time with the Washington Wizards is also in the works. This could be another addition to the original point made by the accounts on Twitter and Instagram.
