Stephen Curry keeps doing impressive things this NBA season, leading the Golden State Warriors to the top of the Western Conference, boasting the league-best record with 10 wins and only one loss.
The Chef keeps cooking and his defenders having a terrible night against him. The 2x NBA MVP is having a terrific start to the season and nobody seems to find an answer for this player. He’s making an early case for the 2022 MVP and everybody is in awe of his performances.
For instance, the 2021/22 season steal leader thinks Curry is almost unguardable. Alex Caruso recently talked with JJ Redick on his ‘The Old Man and the Three’ podcast to discuss a series of topics. Caruso is an excellent defender who has faced Curry several times during his career.
The Chicago Bulls guard was asked if there is a harder player to guard than Stephen Curry and didn’t mince words to explain how great Steph is (0:39).
“I would say the guys that I match up, the guys that I’m told to guard, I’m not guarding AD, I’m not guarding Kevin Durant, those guys don’t see me. I’m only 6’5″, but guard wings, the dude [Curry] is a menace. It’s impossible– especially the way they run their offense and the way that him and Draymond have this telepathy. The guys that are back this year, Damion Lee, Toscano-Anderson, Jordan Poole, [Kevon] Looney and then they brought back Dre [Iguodala]. They’re actually understanding how to play, with him now, how he operates, how he moves when he gives up the ball; he continues to run in circles until you fall asleep, and even then shoots it from 30 feet. It’s borderline, it’s at times unguardable.”
Curry is tearing defenses apart and taking his game to the next level. The Golden State Warriors superstar is on a mission this year and defenders can’t figure him out. Whatever you try to do, as high as you try to pressure him, he would pull up and probably score a long-range shot.
Steph constantly tries to be better and this season he’s showing that. The Warriors are doing great without Klay Thompson and James Wiseman on the court. It’s true that they’ve had an easy schedule, but you have to win those games regardless.
Caruso and his Bulls visit the Warriors tonight at Chase Center. This will be the hardest matchup for these two teams, as they lead their respective conferences.
Curry currently averages 27.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists in 11 games with the Warriors.
