“I remember [Lil] Wayne. We won the national championship. I go to Miami, like my first vacation. And we’re walking. Mind you, this entourage of his with 20-30 people. Wayne gets out of the car and starts yelling. I’m like ‘Yo, nah that ain’t Lil Wayne’. (He said) ‘Yo, I’m a big fan’.”
“From that moment, no matter what, that’s somebody that I will always like really f**k with and really rock with. Because of the fact that I’m coming out here, so green in Miami.”

Wayne is a massive basketball fan, so for him to know who Carmelo Anthony was coming off of Syracuse’s historic NCAA championship win in 2003 is not surprising, especially when one considers that the NCAA championship game took place in Wayne’s hometown of New Orleans.
