Over the years, Paul George and Damian Lillard have been seen as rivals throughout the NBA community. After years of competing against one another, and exchanging a series of blows, fans couldn't help but feel there was real tension between the two stars.
Well, if there was any type of rivalry or animosity, the pair put it to rest on Sunday. George took back an earlier statement about Lillard and Dame revealed they shook hands after the game, citing that "life is too short" to be holding grudges over simple things.
"We shook hands. As a man I don’t hold on to issues that tightly when it’s not that deep. Life is short."
Indeed, it is never wise to harbor bitterness in one's heart, and both Lillard and George have let go of their bitterness for each other -- at least, for now.
If they happen to meet again in the playoffs, and things get chippy, who is to say the flame of tension could not rise again?
In the meantime, though, it's all love and peace between the two.
