Amid all the Ben Simmons drama the last two seasons, the Philadelphia 76ers have found a gem in Tyrese Maxey, who is expected to lead this team in the future and compete for important things alongside Joel Embiid. The young guard has shown flashes of a future star, surprising everybody with his good level.
Not only were rivals shocked by Maxey's level, but people within the Sixers organization. This player can do really good things in the league, and his head coach is well aware of the talent he has in his hands.
Doc Rivers recently joined the Vince Carter show to speak on a variety of topics, including the Ben Simmons saga and the tampering allegations against the Philadelphia 76ers. Moreover, he also talked about Maxey, giving flowers to the player, even revealing that he works so hard that he doesn't know how to take a rest.
"He's the most impressive young player I've ever had in 21 years of coaching. His work ethic is beyond belief... He called 2 weeks ago bc he went on a vacation... The first vacation he'd ever been on in his life... He asked what do you do in vacation."
Having teammates like James Harden, perhaps Maxey will find a way to spend his vacations having fun. Joel Embiid was recently spotted playing some pickup games, so he can also join the big man. Maxey has a bright future ahead, and Rivers is well aware of that.
The Sixers are set for the present and the future with their Big 3, and Maxey will try to keep on playing for big things even when Embiid and Harden's level starts to decrease. This kid is going places, and the Sixers must be excited about what he's bringing to the table. Next season will be a huge one for the team, as they hope to finally play in the Finals and compete for the championship.
