Donovan Mitchell And Rudy Gobert Make Statements After Testing Positive For COVID-19

1 Min Read

Hours after Rudy Gobert’s positive diagnosis, it was discovered that his teammate, Donovan Mitchell, also contracted the coronavirus. The NBA promptly suspended the season and everything just feels so wrong.

As people continue to get tested, and the league determines its next steps, Mitchell issued a message about the whole situation on Instagram.

He not only confirms his positive diagnosis but thanks those who are actively taking action to combat and contain the epidemic. He also urges people to “behave responsibly” as this issue seems to be being underplayed by much of the American public.

Rudy Gobert, who was the first positive case in the NBA, also issued a statement, apologizing for his reckless actions in the days leading up to his official diagnosis.

Gobert admits that he’s embarrassed and hopes that people use his actions as an example of how truly serious this whole situation is.

No other players have been announced as infected at this time but we will continue to provide updates on COVID-19’s impact on the NBA as they arrive.
