Evan Turner Takes A Shot At Giannis Antetokounmpo After The Superstar Said He’d Like To “Disappear” After Retiring From The NBA: “Buddy Like Attention Too Much For That”

Giannis Antetokounmpo is widely regarded now as the best player in the NBA and deservedly so. He got the proverbial monkey off his back by winning his first championship last year and in the process, dispelled all the talk about his style of play not being conducive to winning in the postseason.

His Bucks seemed like a pretty good bet to repeat as champions as well, but an injury to Khris Middleton in the first round of the playoffs against the Bulls changed all of that. They managed to get past Chicago but the Boston Celtics, who ended up making the NBA Finals, were always going to be a huge problem to deal with and that proved to be the case. Despite some otherworldly displays from Giannis which led to him averaging 33.9 points, 14.7 rebounds, and 7.1 assists, the Celtics won in 7 games as the Bucks just didn’t have the firepower without Middleton. The series defeat did little to tarnish Giannis’ reputation though, as he played great and the Bucks would have probably gone through if they were healthy.

The Bucks are healthy now and are back among the favorites to win the championship this upcoming season. Giannis is incredibly motivated to win it all once again, as he recently admitted that he kind of got jealous of the Warriors. He also spoke about life post-retirement, stating that he would like to disappear like former Spurs star Tim Duncan seemingly has. The video went viral, but Evan Turner wasn’t buying what Giannis said there.

Buddy like attention too much for that lol

“Buddy like attention too much for that lol”

It is the first we have seen someone claim that Giannis is somewhat of an attention seeker, as he has always come across as someone who is very humble and down to earth. He recently stated that Stephen Curry is the best player in the world because he won the championship and there have been hardly any moments during his career where Giannis has tried to have the spotlight on himself.

Antetokounmpo just always seems to have some shade thrown at him for no apparent reason and this just seems like yet another instance of that. Bulls star DeMar DeRozan was full of praise for him recently though, as he called him a killer on the court, and DeMar would know that all too well after Giannis ran through them in the first round.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
