Former NBA Guard Matt Barnes Shares A Funny Klay Thompson Story

It’s been two seasons since NBA fans saw Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson in action. The three-time NBA champion missed back-to-back seasons due to devastating injuries. However, Klay will finally return to action in the 2021-22 NBA season.

Prior to the new season, the excitement for Klay’s return is unreal. Former NBA and Warriors guard Matt Barnes shared a story about Thompson.

Barnes played his final season in the league for the Dubs. The then 36-year-old finished his career with an NBA championship. Barnes’ story about Klay happened when the Warriors won the Western Conference Finals.

“We had just won the Western Conference Finals,” said Barnes. “Everyone was enjoying everything, talking and eating and having a drink. And here’s Klay [Thompson] with two 9-year-olds at his locker, teaching them how to make paper airplanes and flying them across the locker room.”

One of the things that makes fans fall in love with Thompson is always cheerful behavior with them. Usually, many NBA players do not bother interacting with fans. But on the other hand, Klay probably gave those two children a moment to cherish for their entire lives.

While Klay Thompson is this goofy and carefree person, when he enters the court, he is one of the most lethal players in the league.

He and Steph Curry, the Splash Brothers, have torn numerous defenders to pieces. The Warriors organization will be jubilant about having him back on the roster for the upcoming season.

But, Klay’s job won’t be easy as the league has gone through some major changes in the time that he was sidelined. Even in the Western Conference, the Warriors are no longer the favorites to make it to the NBA finals. The biggest obstacle in their course is LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

All things considered, fans will be more than happy to see Klay back in action. Everything else is secondary. Do you think the Warriors can win the 2021-22 NBA championship following the comeback of Klay Thompson? Or are they still lacking a piece to reclaim their throne of the best team in the league?
