Giannis Antetokounmpo Reacts To Team LeBron Starting 5: ‘It’s Over, Guys.’

2 Min Read

Ever since the All-Star Game changed the way teams are assembled, Giannis Antetokounmpo was the captain of his own team for the first three editions, going against LeBron James. The King always put together stacked teams and although Giannis was really close to beating him last year, the Greek Freak went 0-3 against the Los Angeles Lakers superstar.

This season, he was a starter but not the captain of the team, which opened the door for LeBron to team up with him and try to beat Team Durant this Sunday in what appears to be a very entertaining game for these two squads. When he found out he was the first overall pick of the draft, Antetokounmpo couldn’t hide his smile and when he heard the starting 5 of Team LeBron, things went nuts for him.

“I was No. 1 pick?” Giannis asked reporters. “Do I get a hat? Like something.”

When he heard the rest of the team, Giannis’ expression was just like the rest of us. LeBron put together a very good team and even the 2x MVP knows that.

“That’s our starting five?” Giannis asked while almost choking on his chicken. “Yeah, it’s over, guys. Me, LeBron, Luka, Jokic, and Steph? Man, that’s a good starting five.

Giannis is well aware he’s part of a very talented and well-rounded team. They are going to play a great game, no doubt about, and it’s unclear how Team Durant will respond to that. If we go to the starting lineups, Team LeBron has the upper hand over their rivals but the All-Star Game brings the best of these players so let’s not give up on Team Durant so quickly.

They have a very talented team, too, and will try to upset LBJ, Giannis, and co., even if their captain is sidelined for the game.
