If Nikola Jokic Wins The MVP, He Will Be The Lowest-Drafted Player To Win The Award

Nikola Jokic is one of the frontrunners for the MVP award this season. Nikola Jokic has continued to show why he could potentially be the best passing big man of all-time this season. An MVP award would be a fitting way to cap off a season where he has been the primary offensive force for his team night in and night out.

Nikola Jokic has a good chance at the award: aside from his stellar individual season, some of the other contenders for the award have faced injury (Joel Embiid, LeBron James). But if he does win, he will absolutely deserve it. StatMuse recently posted an interesting fact: if Nikola Jokic were to win the award, he would have the lowest draft position of any NBA MVP.

Nikola Jokic is currently leading the NBA in PER, WS, WS/48, BPM, VORP and is the betting favorite to win MVP.

If he does win it, he would be the lowest drafted player (41st) in NBA history to do so. The current record is 15th, held by Nash and Giannis.

Nikola Jokic could make history by winning the MVP. A second-round pick winning the MVP award sounds like a fairytale story, but it could potentially become a reality if Nikola Jokic manages to win. The Denver Nuggets are 5th in the Western Conference, but still have some time to move up in the standings. Nikola Jokic has hit another level this season, and hopefully, he gets rewarded for it.
