James Harden Could Make More 3PTS Than Stephen Curry At The End Of His Career

James Harden has become a better 3-point shooter in recent seasons. He’s gotten so good that he could get more 3-pointers made than Stephen Curry when they both finish their careers. You can say the Beard has taken advantage of Curry missing games in recent campaigns, but his improvement beyond the arc is undeniable.

Right now, Curry has made 2,492 3-pointers in his career, which place him third on the All-Time list. James Harden, on the other hand, has made 2,202 3-pointers in his career and sits at 8th all-time at this moment.

So far in their careers, Curry (3.6 3PM/g, .435%) is a substantially more accurate and proficient 3-point shooter than Harden (2.8 3PM/g, .366%), but as stated before, the 2018 NBA MVP has improved his efficiency from 3, so it won’t be a shock if he reaches Curry’s level in the next couple of years.

Harden is 30 right now while Curry is a year older than him. Let’s say they stay at a good level until 34 or 35, provided that they reach a level similar to LeBron James’. Harden has substantially increased his 3 point shooting volume (10.0 in 2017/18, 13.2 in 2018/19 and 13.5 this season) and has led the league in both 3PA and 3PM for two (going on three) straight seasons.

You can say Curry missing games is a big factor to that, but the Beard is taking more and more triples every night, even daring to shoot from deep, just like Curry. His averages have improved every single season, recording 38% from 3 this term, surpassing the 36%, 36% and 34% he posted in the last three seasons.

He’s closed the gap between him and the Warriors superstar during this time, so it won’t be a shock if we see him surpassing Chef Curry on the All-Time 3-point made list. Harden could surpass Jason Terry and steal the fifth on this list this very season, as the distance between they two is just of 80 three-pointers.
