DeMar DeRozan has been one of the most underrated players going into this season, but he has been flat-out amazing for the Chicago Bulls. Currently, DeMar DeRozan is averaging 26.6 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 5.1 APG.

The Chicago Bulls recently lost to the Philadelphia 76ers, but that loss definitely wasn’t DeRozan’s fault. DeMar DeRozan finished the game with 45 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists.

It is clear that DeMar DeRozan had a good performance, and Joel Embiid made sure to shout him out after the game. Embiid claimed that he “always thought” DeMar DeRozan was an underrated player, and added that DeRozan’s footwork reminds him of Kobe Bryant. DeMar DeRozan notably claimed that Kobe Bryant was always the player he “gravitated to” when watching basketball.

Joel Embiid on DeMar DeRozan: "I always thought he was underrated… Footwork kind of reminds me of Kobe."

And then I asked him about a nerdy topic, when he decides to pop vs. roll on pick-and-rolls. Thought he gave a pretty good answer. pic.twitter.com/tR6YTqhRBg

Really good player. I always thought he was underrated, the way he plays… footwork kind of reminds me of Kobe. Just the footwork and the tough shots that he takes… I’ve always been a fan.

There is no doubt that DeMar DeRozan has been carrying an immense offensive load for the Chicago Bulls, especially while Zach LaVine has been sidelined with injury for the last two games. He definitely deserves the praise that he’s getting for his play.

The Chicago Bulls are currently the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, and when fully healthy, they’re definitely a contender. There have even been rumors that have suggested that they might make a trade for a player like Dennis Schroder to bolster their chances of winning. The Chicago Bulls have a lot of star power on the roster with DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic. It’ll be interesting to see how well they do in the playoffs, but there’s no question that based on the talent on the roster, they’ll be able to go toe-to-toe against most teams.
