NBA Rumors: Dallas Mavericks Want To Trade For Pascal Siakam Or John Collins

The Dallas Mavericks are currently the 5th seed in the Western Conference, and they are 15-5 in their last 20 games. There’s no doubt that they have been doing well recently.

While they’re a good team, the Dallas Mavericks aren’t necessarily viewed as a top-tier contender. Perhaps that could change if the team ends up acquiring more talent to add to the roster.

Matt Moore of the Action Network has recently revealed that the Dallas Mavericks want to acquire John Collins and Pascal Siakam. Moore noted that the team was “shopping for a center for much of the season”, but have switched recently “to pursuing a power forward”.

The Dallas Mavericks were shopping for a center for much of the season, but have shifted in recent days to pursuing a power forward. Kristaps Porzingis’ revival this season has made Dallas focus on a stretch four to play next to Porzingis. They’ve re-entered the talks for Collins and have made calls about Siakam.

There is no doubt that Pascal Siakam and John Collins would both help the Dallas Mavericks. They are both versatile forwards who have shooting ability, and they would both be perfect complements to Luka Doncic. The Dallas Mavericks were also notably seen as the favorites to land Pacers center Myles Turner earlier this year. It remains to be seen if the Dallas Mavericks do end up making a trade, but it seems as though they’re exploring ways to improve the roster and gear up for a playoff run.

Whether or not a trade happens though, the Dallas Mavericks have been a solid team this year. As mentioned, Kristaps Porzingis is having a “revival”, while Luka Doncic is still playing at a superstar level this year. Perhaps this is the year we see Luka Doncic win his first playoffs series, and make a deep run in the postseason.
