Joel Embiid may be the best big man in the NBA. As a top-tier scorer, rebounder, and defender, he carries a huge load for his team night in and night out. Do you ever wonder how he maintains his energy?

Well, thanks to a little story by Landry Shamet, we have an idea of just how much food JoJo is capable of putting into his 7-0, 250-pound body.

“So I got Chick-Fil-A for the whole flight and then Joel had his own separate order,” Shamet said in an interview with Kristine Leahy. “So his was like 4 sandwiches, a couple fries, and like four cookies-and-cream milkshakes. It was crazy. I don’t know how he does it.”

Joel is a big dude who burns a ton of calories but all that food in one sitting? Many are questioning how that’s even possible. Of course, this isn’t the first time Embiid’s diet been a topic of conversation. In fact, his eating habits are pretty well known at this point.

It’s well known that before games Joel Embiid consumes a ridiculous amount of food, anywhere from four spicy chicken sandwiches to burgers and fries. His eating habits have always been a major knock on him because his weight and conditioning have kept him from playing extended periods of time.

Whether in spite of his diet or because of it, EMbiid has been dominant on the court — much to his credit. In just four seasons, he is posting an average of 24 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game on 47% shooting.

The dude is truly an enigma.
