Kendrick Perkins recently sparked a huge debate on social media, asking fans who has the best legacy between Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo. After the Greek Freak became an NBA champion with the Milwaukee Bucks, he earned his place in the Hall of Fame.

Comparisons are always hateful, but KP tends to make bold statements, especially when he pits two monsters against each other. On Monday’s edition of ESPN’s The Jump, Perkins sided with Giannis, saying that his life story and all he went through to get that first ring beats whatever KD did (0:31).

I pick Giannis… I didn’t say who was the best player, or who was the better player. Obviously, that’s Kevin Durant. When you think about legacy, you think about their story. And you think about basically writing a book and the chapters of their story. Right now, Giannis’ story is way better than KD’s. So, to me, he has a better legacy.”

This is an interesting way to put it. Giannis has done a lot in his career, collecting several individual awards on his way to the top of the league. However, many people will disagree on this, picking Durant over the 26-year-old.

These debates will never get settled, but this question really makes you think. Who do you prefer? That depends on the type of story you like to hear.
