Luka Doncic Says Winning The Gold Medal With Slovenia In The Olympics Would Mean More Than An NBA Title

2 Min Read

A lot of superstars from the NBA participate in other basketball competitions for their respective countries. Luka Doncic is one of them, and he is currently competing in the Olympic qualifying tournament in Lithuania. If Luka Doncic and the Slovenian national team manage to qualify for the Olympics, then they will subsequently have a chance to fight for the gold medal at the event.

Luka Doncic was recently asked about what would mean more to him: winning a gold medal with Slovenia or winning an NBA title. Doncic went with the Olympic medal, though he mentioned that he wouldn’t mind having both.

I’d say gold medal with Slovenia. You play for your country and that’s something… but I wouldn’t mind both.”

The NBA is the largest professional basketball league in the world: winning the NBA title is a great achievement. However, the Olympics are a worldwide event where players are allowed to represent their countries, and one can see how that would mean a lot to Doncic. Luka Doncic has a lot of talent, but it is difficult to see any team get past Team USA, who has a star-studded roster. However, with a player like Doncic, Slovenia will always have a chance against anyone.
