Anthony Edwards is the next big hope in the league for a shooting guard sensation. While we have seen the emergence of Devin Booker, Zach Lavine, Bradley Beal, Donovan Mitchell, and many others, we haven’t seen someone elevate to the level of shooting guards like Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, or most importantly, Michael Jordan.
There is only one player who has had others compare him to MJ right now, and that is Minnesota Timberwolves wing Anthony Edwards. He has a similar physical frame to MJ’s while also playing in a similarly explosive style but with an emphasis on 3-point shooting more than mid-range fadeaway.
A Wolves fan account shared a picture of Anthony Edwards’ IG story where he posted a picture of him right after a haircut, tagging his barber in the post as well. The haircut is very similar to that of a young Michael Jordan, and the Wolves fan account realized, sharing a picture of them side-by-side.
Anthony Edwards got a haircut. Yep it’s over for the league. 👀 pic.twitter.com/7lFdr8eYNE

Edwards is one of the most fun players in the league today. His interviews are consistently hilarious, and it combines really well with his play on the court. Edwards has great potential in all respects of his game and is already one of the best wings in the Western Conference.
The haircut may not be an active link to Michael Jordan, but it is one incredibly good coincidence. Edwards can take over the role of the standout wing scorer on the Timberwolves as Karl-Anthony Towns, and Rudy Gobert make room for each other in the paint.
If Ant can continue developing at this pace, there is no telling what he might achieve. The fan was joking, but Edwards might genuinely have it in him to execute a breakout season that helps the Wolves not only qualify for the playoffs but make a deep run into the postseason.
