NBA Insiders Reveal There Is 'Zero Chance' That The Lakers Offer Anthony Davis In Trade For Kevin Durant, Focus Is On Kyrie Irving

Kevin Durant is one of the greatest players of our generation and there are no two ways to look at it. So when a player of that caliber requests a trade, any team trying to trade for him needs to be ready to trade away any asset to acquire him.

But considering the fact that Durant will turn 34 years old later this year and he is still locked in a contract for four years, it might make a few teams adamant about trading away their best assets.

The biggest fear is that if KD can ask for a trade with four years left on his contract, he could do the same when three or even two years are left on his contract. Despite all these red flags, a lot of teams have inquired about the potential trade package required to trade for Kevin Durant.

Evidently, fans want the Los Angeles Lakers to also at least try to get KD. But the Lakers must be well aware that the Nets wouldn't even start the conversation without Anthony Davis being included in the deal.

So are the Lakers ready to trade away their 29-year-old superstar? Well, as per Jovan Buha and Sam Amick, there is a zero percent chance of this happening.

Via The Athletic:

"As for the prospect of the Lakers trying to get in on the Durant sweepstakes themselves, perhaps by making [Anthony] Davis available in the process, a source close to the situation put the chances at 'zero.' Their focus, it seems, is on [Kyrie] Irving. And vice versa."

To be completely honest, it's not surprising that the Lakers do not want to even bring AD's name to the conversation. With LeBron James growing older, AD is the Lakers' next franchise player.

And for that to happen, they need to keep him happy. Apart from that, if the Lakers are eyeing a super team, a team featuring LeBron, AD, and Kyrie is probably a better choice than a trio of LeBron, KD, and Westbrook.
