Stephen Curry is one more series win away from clinching the 4th NBA championship of his career. The Warriors guard has already built up one of the most impressive careers of all time, and he has an opportunity to add one accolade that he’s never achieved before, Finals MVP. If Curry can lead the Warriors to a series win over an impressive Celtics team, then he has a chance to take another leap in the all-time standings.
There has been a lot of talk about the Finals MVP, with some insisting that Curry doesn’t need one to solidify his legacy as he already is one of the best to ever do it without one. However, fans that dislike Curry have pointed to the time he seemingly cried despite the Warriors going up 3-0 in the NBA Finals in 2018. And the implication is that Curry cried because it was Durant who had a massive performance in the win and clinched Finals MVP for the second season in a row:

Either way, a Finals MVP is the expectation this time, and if Curry can’t deliver, the haters will only get even louder after the Finals.
