Patrick Beverley Jokes With Reporter Who Told Him He Feels 60 Years Old: “Come To The Lakers, We’ll Get You Right.”

Patrick Beverley is embracing his new team, the Los Angeles Lakers, as shown in his recent media interactions at his official unveiling

Patrick Beverley is warming up to being a part of the Los Angeles Lakers already. While he has made some contentious comments about LeBron James and Anthony Davis, nobody is questioning his commitment to making the Lakers a playoff team again.

Regardless of how he may talk to the stars of the team, he understands his role on the court and will hold people accountable on the court in terms of the effort they put into the game.

During his unveiling as a Laker, he was taking questions from the media when one journalist asked him how he was feeling physically. Beverley jokingly responded that he felt like a 19-year-old before asking the journalist how old does he feel. The journalist told Beverley he felt like he was 60, so Beverley told him to come and join the Lakers because they ‘will get him right’.

Patrick Beverley: The New Heart And Soul Of The Lakers?

Patrick Beverley is one of the toughest players in the league. Not only is he a grizzled veteran, but he is also a defensive presence on the court. He has proven to be a winning player throughout his career and he seems to have great relationships with his previous teams. If Beverley was just the pest we saw on TV, he wouldn’t have generated so much goodwill from his former teammates and coaches.

The biggest question in LA will be whether Beverley’s voice can influence the likes of Anthony Davis and LeBron James. Leading a locker room where Kawhi Leonard is the quiet leader or a locker room with a young Wolves team is very different than a Lakers team with someone like LeBron James.

Beverley has already spoken about how James is a big brother to him. Hopefully, that relationship can be the catalyst for the Lakers to buy into the mindset and grittiness Beverley and new coach Darvin Ham bring to the team and employ it to change their fortunes.
