The Milwaukee Bucks are preparing to face the Phoenix Suns at home in Game 4 of the 2021 NBA Finals. After their solid performance in Game 3, the Bucks pulled the series back 2-1. Now they look to tie the series up, before heading back to Phoenix for Game 5.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was absolutely magnificent for the Bucks in Game 3, putting up 41 points and 13 rebounds. Giannis was just impossible to guard for the Suns. And therein lies the problem, in the eyes of NBA legend Reggie Miller.
Miller was a guest on the 'Dan Patrick Show', where he reflected on the Bucks' Game 3 win over the Suns. Miller noted that the Suns just couldn't keep up with Giannis, and had no one they could put on him during the game. Deandre Ayton got into foul trouble, and the rest of the squad was too small to keep up with him. But what helped the Bucks win was also the improved performances of Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday. Them complimenting Giannis' performances will make them a challenge for the Suns, said Miller.
“Number one, they have zero answers for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Whether it’s Deandre Ayton in his size trying to guard him, they downgrade and put Jae Crowder on him, Mikal Bridges, it doesn’t matter. His size, his offensive rebounding - and now that he is starting to hit free throws, last night was his best trip to the free-throw line, they had no answer for him. And number two, when Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday play reasonable, this Milwaukee Bucks team is very difficult to beat.”
However, Miller did add that Phoenix did what they had to in their first two games, winning on their home court. Without their home court advantage compromised, the Suns can play without worrying too much, as the Phoenix Suns Arena has proven a difficult court for many of their teams.
As things stand, the Suns could win their next two games and claim the NBA title on their home court. But if Giannis has anything to say about it, their route won't be so easy.
