Russell Westbrook Didn’t Try To Play Any Defense While Patrick Beverley Hustled To Get The Offensive Rebound And Score

Russell Westbrook and the Los Angeles Lakers were embarrassed once again. This time, it was the Minnesota Timberwolves who dished out humiliation to the Lakers. It was yet another poor performance from the Lakers, something that has become far too frequent for the once-great squad.

Westbrook didn’t have a good game, putting up another poor outing with the Lakers. And one video, in particular, shows just how little he is doing to help the Lakers. During the game, Patrick Beverley ran past Westbrook, hustled to get the offensive rebound, and then put the ball in the basket. While all this was happening, Russ saw Beverley run past him, didn’t try to play any defense, and didn’t even move an inch.

Westbrook scored just 15 points last night and didn’t do much to help the Lakers. But it would be unfair to single out Westbrook for the poor performance. The Lakers have had a problem with performing as a team. Other than LeBron James, who is also subjected to criticism for this form, there aren’t many players doing much to help the Lakers bounce back.

The Lakers will probably have to find a way into the playoffs through the play-in tournament. The Lakers are currently 11 games below the .500 mark. And given their schedule for the remainder of the season, the likelihood of them making some kind of run is very low. So the Lakers will be targeting staying afloat in the West and trying their luck through the play-in tournament.

The Lakers’ front office has to be very active in the offseason to try and address the problems with this team. Other than LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and perhaps Malik Monk, no player on the team will have any kind of guarantee of continuing with the Lakers next season.
