Russell Westbrook's Smart Response After The Kings Trolled Him With 'You're As Cold As Ice': "I Hope They Played That The Last 14 Years Too. That's Cute."

Russell Westbrook had yet another poor performance with the Los Angeles Lakers last night. During the game against the Sacramento Kings, Westbrook once again failed to surpass the 10-point mark, making it his third straight game with an underwhelming scoring output. Westbrook was quite bad once again for the Lakers, and the Sacramento Kings decided to poke fun at him during the game.

In the final moments of the Lakers-Kings game, the Sacramento Kings arena put up a graphic on the jumbotron which dubbed Russell Westbrook the ‘Ice Cold Player Of The Game’.

Russ, by no means, had a good game, and so, the Sacramento Kings decided to make fun of him for it, playing ‘You’re As Cold As Ice’ every time he missed a shot. And as they celebrated their win, by playing Vanilla Ice’s ‘Ice Ice Baby’ to mock him even further.

After the game, Westbrook was asked about the Kings’ trolling him about his performance. Russ, not one to take kindly to insults, laughed it off, and poked fun at the Sacramento Kings for their 14-year playoff drought, suggesting that they should have played the song each time they missed out on the playoffs.

“That’s funny. I hope they played that the last 14 years too. That’s funny. That’s cute.”

Clearly, Westbrook wanted to remind Kings fans about their struggles, especially when it comes to the post-season. And while Westbrook has been struggling himself, he certainly hasn’t missed the NBA playoffs since his rookie season. So for Westbrook, he might have just gotten the last laugh over the Kings.

LeBron James came out after the game to defend Russ, saying that he needs to continue to work to beat this slump. Fans were less sympathetic, flaming Russ for his 8 points last night. Westbrook's demeanor suggests that he isn't too concerned right now.

But Lakers fans will still be upset with the way he played. Westbrook is proving to be a major problem for the team, and his performances have cost them some really important games. Until and unless Westbrook becomes a reliable player for the Lakers, they cannot think about winning the NBA championship.
