For eight seasons, LeBron James dominated the Eastern Conference as a member of the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers. During that stretch, he made eight straight Finals appearances, beating a list of teams that include the Celtics, Pacers, Bulls, Hawks, and Raptors.
Amazingly, though, Bron’s reign of dominance did not stop there. He went to the West and, within two seasons, brought home another Championship.
In light of his win against the Heat, it only added to his long list of beaten competitors and continued his streak of defeating Eastern Conference teams in the playoffs, which stands unbeaten since his loss against Boston in 2010.
His overall record in the postseason stands at an impressive 172-88, which includes a 26-series streak of victories.
At 35-years-old, there’s no telling how much longer LeBron can continue to dominate the NBA. Father Time is not on his side, and neither is the rising number of competitors in the West.
Perhaps most impressive of all is the fact that he did much of the same to the West this year. Having eliminated every team in five games, he made quick work of what was supposed to be the “harder” road to the Finals.
At 35-years-old, there’s no telling how much longer this will go on. It could be a year, two years, five years — but James has proven time and time again not to count him out and until we see the day time finally catches up with him, we can’t expect anything less than the best.
