Skip Bayless Says Stephen Curry Has Not Proven He Is A Special Player: “Steph Is A Special Shooter. I’ve Never Seen Anything Like Him. But A Special Player? I Can’t Go There Yet, I Need To See More.”

Skip Bayless is notorious for his criticism of LeBron James. It can be argued that Bayless has made a career out of criticizing LeBron James and being overly harsh to him.

But LeBron is far from the only NBA player that Bayless has been overly critical of. There are several players that Bayless has argued against, saying that they are not as good as everyone believes. And Stephen Curry is definitely one of those players.

During yesterday’s episode of Undisputed, Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe were discussing the Warriors’ unlikely win against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Bayless then spoke about Stephen Curry, arguing that Curry is a special shooter, but has not done enough to prove to him that he is a special player. Bayless argued that he needs to see more from Curry before he can put him in that category (till 0:12).

“Steph is a special shooter, I’ve never seen anything like him. But a special player? I can’t go there yet, I need to see more.”

Given Stephen Curry’s legacy and accomplishments in the NBA, it is hard to see where Bayless is coming from. In the 13 years that Curry has been in the league, he has won 3 NBA championships, 2 MVPs, led the league in scoring twice, and become the NBA’s all-time leader in three-pointers.

Many people have also credited Curry with revolutionizing the NBA and inspiring the shift in the NBA to a more perimeter-oriented game. Curry’s exploits from the three-point line have caused many players and teams to develop a three-point shot to maximize their scoring.

There is no denying how important Curry has been to the modern NBA, showing that smaller guards in the league can be just as dangerous as big players. And that makes him a special player, one who will be remembered for decades to come.
