LeBron James and Stephen Curry are two of the most successful NBA players of the modern era. Both players have had a reign over the NBA as the best player in the league, and are considered two of the best players in the world.

Curry and LeBron have been rivals for many years of their career, and have even faced each other in the NBA Finals 4 years in a row between 2015 to 2018. But Stephen A. Smith believes Stephen Curry is on the verge of surpassing LeBron James when it comes to NBA championships.

Stephen A. Smith spoke about Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors playing in the NBA Finals this year. Smith picked the Warriors to win the chip this year and even expects the Warriors to win another NBA championship over the next 2 seasons.

He believes that Curry will end his career with 5 NBA championships, as compared to LeBron James, who currently only has 4 NBA championships (1:28 onwards).

“What do you think the Warriors are going to be doing, sitting there and taking pictures? I think they’ll make some adjustments as well. I see the Warriors winning 2 of the next 3 titles. I’m thinking about Stephen Curry, I’m thinking about Klay Thompson, I’m thinking about Draymond. But I’m also thinking about Jordan Poole, I’m thinking about Jordan Poole, yes I’m going to bring up James Wiseman… I like their chances… I’m looking at the Golden State Warriors being at least 8 deep. And I see this team… I’m willing to say the Golden State Warriors are winning 2 of the next 3 titles. I believe Steph Curry will eclipse LeBron James and capture 5 championships in his career, while LeBron is still stuck on 4.”

Stephen A. Smith is making a bold claim about the Warriors. But this is not new, as Stephen A. has always been a big fan of the Warriors.

Even when the Warriors missed the playoffs 2 seasons in a row, he kept claiming that the Warriors would return to the NBA Finals if Klay Thompson returned and was as good as he used to be, over which he was proven right.

But LeBron James is one of the most driven athletes in the NBA. And for him to potentially see Stephen Curry, one of his biggest rivals, win yet another NBA championship and tie his tally with LeBron’s will motivate him to win another NBA championship.
