The Golden State Warriors are a team that has been extremely competitive during the Stephen Curry era. They have made six NBA Finals during that timespan, and it is possible that they will end up finding even more success in the future.

The team also made the playoffs eight times under Stephen Curry, and it is clear that the Golden State Warriors have the experience to perform well in the postseason. They have won at the highest level, and there’s no denying that they are a battle-tested squad currently.

Bob Myers Believes The Playoffs Are A Different Sport Than The Regular Season

When a team ends up in the playoffs for the first time, they end up realizing that the playoffs are entirely different from the regular season. The officiating notably gets tougher, and the pressure on one to perform rises.

Warriors GM Bob Myers once explained how the playoffs are different from the regular season. He pointed out that players’ strengths can get taken away, and the key is having multi-dimensional players.

The playoffs are nothing like the regular season. They are two completely different sports. The way it’s officiated… Your bench is completely different… you can prepare differently… In the playoffs, your first move is gone… Whatever they know he does well is gone. That is where you need to check as many boxes… We’ve played some great shooters in the playoffs and neutralized them because if that’s all you can do… that 2 feet of space you had in the regular season is two inches… The more dimensions you have to your game the harder you are to take away… you watch the playoffs you know who can play basketball.

There is no doubt that we have seen some of what Bob Myers is talking about in past playoffs. Some shooters end up getting played off the floor because they continuously get picked on defensively, and their offense isn’t enough to offset their negative impact on the other end. Some superstars have also been limited due to the lack of versatility in their game as well.

It is clear that everyone in the Golden State Warriors understands what it takes to win at a high level. The front office knows how to construct a winning squad, and that was evidenced by the team winning the 2022 championship. The team’s championship window is wide open, and perhaps we will see their elite roster construction result in more championships.
