Joel Embiid is in a great position to win the 2023 NBA MVP award. The Cameroonian-born player has recorded an incredible season for the Philadelphia 76ers, and after yet again impressive performance, he appears to be a lock for the coveted award.

According to Shams Charania, NBA players are convinced that Embiid is set to win the 2023 NBA MVP award.

Following an impressive 52-point performance against the Boston Celtics, Embiid may have secured winning the first MVP of his career. The Philadelphia 76ers superstar added 13 rebounds and 6 assists to his stat sheet, confirming that he’s finishing the regular season on a high note.

In recent days, players have revealed their picks for the 2023 MVP race. Stephen Curry selected Embiid, just like Damian Lillard. Philadelphia 76ers head coach Doc Rivers made a case for Joel after his incredible performance against the Celtics.

Embiid is on a tear right now, and even though he decided to skip the final duel against Nikola Jokic, he’s en route to beating the Serbian player for the MVP award.

Jimmy Butler Claims Joel Embiid Deserved MVP Award Last Season

Added to Curry, Lillard, and Rivers, Jimmy Butler is supporting Embiid. The current Miami Heat player recently claimed that his former teammate is this season’s MVP but also said that Embiid should have won it last year too.

Following his impressive run against the C’s, Butler made the big claim, showing his support for his good friend.

“Joel’s the MVP. He should’ve been MVP last year too,” Jimmy said.

With only three games left for the Philadelphia 76ers this season, Embiid is averaging 33.3 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 65 games with his team. The Sixers boast a 52-27 record right now, ranking 3rd in the Eastern Conference. They’re 2.0 games away from the Celtics, and a combination of results could take them to that No. 2 spot in the standings.
