NBA Rumors: Chicago Bulls Could Target Lonzo Ball And Dennis Schroder In Free Agency

2 Min Read

The Chicago Bulls already made some big moves at the trade deadline, landing Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic in what was expected to be the best move of the day.

Things haven’t worked so well for the Swiss big man and the Bulls. So they’re trying to find a solution to this situation. In recent hours, we learned that Billy Donovan’s team is looking to add a point guard this offseason.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN (via Blake Schuster of Bleacher Report), the Bulls have two big names on their wishlist: Lonzo Ball and Dennis Schroder. These two players have been linked with an exit from their respective teams, the New Orleans Pelicans and Los Angeles Lakers. The Bulls could take advantage of that in free agency, according to recent reports.

During an appearance on ESPN’s NBA Countdown ahead of the Bulls hosting the Boston Celtics, Wojnarowski suggested Lonzo Ball of the New Orleans Pelicans and Dennis Schroder of the Los Angeles Lakers as two potential targets.

“Point guard is going to be at a premium for them,” Wojnarowski said.

Chicago is expected to enter free agency with nearly $24 million in practical cap space, according to Spotrac, which would allow the team to target a number of players on the market.

These players have improved their game over the past couple of seasons, earning a lot of attention this campaign thanks to their performances. However, Schroder reportedly turned down a 4-year, $84 million offer from the Lakers and it’s unclear if he will get another opportunity like that.

Lonzo has stated his desire to stay in New Orleans but that doesn’t mean he will get his wish. This opens a big window for the Bulls and their front office to build the best possible team around Zach LaVine and Vucevic.
