NBA Rumors: Lakers Showing Interest In Andre Drummond

2 Min Read

With LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Los Angeles Lakers have all they need to compete for a Championship. But with rising levels of competition in the West, Rob Pelinka will be looking to improve the roster before the start of the 2021 playoffs.

According to Sam Amico of FortyEightMinutes, Cavs big man Andre Drummond could be a part of those improvements. Here’s what he wrote in his recent article:

“Along with the Knicks, Drummond continues to be linked to the Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers,” Amico wrote. “The Lakers and Dallas Mavericks are said to only be interested in the event Drummond hits the buyout market.”

With Dre headed towards a likely buyout from the Cavs, his availability has become a huge talking point around the league.

The 27-year-old center, who has played just 25 games with the Cavs, is among the league’s best rebounders and shot blockers. This season, he’s averaging 17.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game on 47% shooting.

With the Lakers, Drummond could have a big impact in the frontcourt, especially alongside LeBron and AD. Regardless of if he ends up with the Purple and Gold, it will be interesting to see how his story plays out over the next few weeks.
