NBA Rumors: Bulls Could Trade Lauri Markkanen

2 Min Read

With just days to go until the NBA’s trade deadline, rumors and speculations regarding some of basketball’s most talented players have been only been heating up.

In Chicago, they’ve done a good job keeping their plans under wraps, but there is a sense that they might be preparing to move on from one of their core young members: 23-year-old Lauri Markkanen.

“The Chicago Bulls have drawn interest in versatile forward Thaddeus Young, sources said. But the Bulls, like the Kings, are on the playoff bubble and aren’t anxious to be sellers even though they’re under .500.

They might be willing to make a deal involving another power forward, free agent-to-be Lauri Markkanen, but Young will likely be staying in Chicago.”

As the 7th pick in the 2017 Draft, Lauri has still not yet lived up to expectations. Through three and a half seasons so far, he has averaged 16.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game on 43.8% shooting.

No doubt, despite his largely inconsistent play, he’ll net quite the return on the trade market for Chicago.

On a contender or young team on the rise, Lauri can make some real waves as a multi-faceted scoring big man. But we’ll have to see if Chicago finds an offer they’re willing to accept.
