NBA Rumors: James Harden Reportedly Wants To Play For Heat, Sixers, Nets If The Rockets Trade Him

3 Min Read

In all of James Harden’s eight seasons in Houston, his team has made the playoffs and, since his arrival in 2012, Harden has blossomed into a star, averaging 29.6 points, 7.7 assists, and 6 rebounds per game on 44% shooting.

But with nothing to show for his tenure thus far, it seems the Rockets are close to their breaking point. While we know that Harden has expressed his desire to stay in Houston, it doesn’t mean the team has ruled out the possibility of trading him. If they deem a restart is necessary, swapping their star player for young guys and picks may be the best way to do it.

Fortunately, according to Five Reasons Sports Network, Harden has already picked three desirable locations if he were to be traded in the immediate future.

James Harden clearly wants to win, and a trade to the Heat, Sixers, or Nets provides him the best opportunity to do just that.

As the reigning Eastern Conference Champs, the Heat might just be a piece or two away from bringing home another title. Harden should definitely be enough to get them there, especially if they’re able to keep Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

In Philadelphia, the franchise is undergoing a major overhaul, spearheaded by new GM Daryl Morey. Obviously, Morey’s history with Harden would play a major role in a potential reunion, but the trio of Harden, Embiid, and Simmons would be more than enough to convince anyone.

Finally, in Brooklyn, the addition of Harden would build a superteam for the franchise with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. They would dominate the Eastern Conference with an absolutely unstoppable offense.

No matter where Harden goes, you can expect that team to become major players in the race for the title. The dude is that good.

But where he’ll go, if he even goes anywhere, remains a mystery at this point in time. We will make sure to update you as the situation develops.
