The Chicago Bulls and the Charlotte Hornets set the record two weeks ago for the most missed 3-pointers in a game between two teams with 75. And tonight, playing against each other, they bizarrely did it again, missing a combined 75 three-pointers in tonight’s game as well.

This is an incredibly rare repeating of history, and we might not ever see something like this happen again. Although one could have made the same argument when this first occurred two weeks ago.

The fact that the new record was set and then subsequently matched by two of the same teams against each other in the span of two weeks is incredible.

The Chicago Bulls went 10-43 (23.3% 3P), missing 33 three-point attempts, whereas the Charlotte Hornets went 18-60 (30.0% 3P), missing 42 three-point attempts.

In their previous game against each other, the Bulls went 14-51 (27.5% 3P), missing 37 of their three-point attempts. While the Hornets went 8-46 (17.4% 3P), missing 38 of their three-point attempts.

Tonight, the Bulls’ worst three-point shooter was Coby White, who went 1-11 from deep. Right behind him was Josh Giddey, who went 1-9 from the three-point line, followed by Jalen Smith who went 1-6 from range. These three players were the worst shooters, combining for an abysmal 3-26 from range.

Miles Bridges was the biggest culprit tonight for the Hornets, going 2-13 from the three-point line, followed by Vasilije Micic, who went 1-8 from the three-point line. KJ Simpson also went 0-4 from deep. Their three worst shooters combined for 3-26 as well. That makes sense considering how poor both teams were tonight.

The game went into overtime tonight as the Bulls got the 115-108 win. But both sides were once again part of making some unfortunate history. They play each other again next month on the 18th of January, and one has to hope that they don’t make it a three-peat.
