The Los Angeles Lakers kicked off training camp with something that had both players and fans buzzing: a completely redesigned locker room that looks more like a luxury suite than a sports facility. Following the team’s record-setting $10 billion sale to new owner Mark Walter, the franchise spared no expense in giving the Lakers’ players a world-class upgrade ahead of the 2025–26 season.

The reaction? Pure disbelief.

Walking into the new space for the first time, players were stunned. The room featured sleek new chairs with gold accents, a massage area, personalized gear setups, and custom dining tables for team meals: every detail designed to match the Lakers’ legendary standard. The atmosphere was electric, filled with laughter, gasps, and plenty of “sheesh” moments as the team took it all in.

Austin Reaves was the first to break the silence. “This is crazy,” he said, shaking his head as he looked around the room.

Luka Doncic, always quick with a reaction, grinned and said, “Oh, s**t.”

Deandre Ayton whistled as he took it all in before adding, “This tough. Sheesh.”

Rui Hachimura and Jarred Vanderbilt were seen leaning back in their new chairs, laughing as they took in the new locker room smell.

Meanwhile, Marcus Smart and Gabe Vincent checked out their new gear setups, inspecting every detail, from custom sneakers to locker displays featuring LED nameplates. Bronny James, Dalton Knecht, and Adou Thiero stood together, visibly in awe as they explored their new surroundings.

Even head coach JJ Redick couldn’t help but smile.

For the Lakers organization, this upgrade symbolizes the beginning of a new chapter. After the sale to Mark Walter earlier this year, the franchise will be looking to double down on modernizing every corner of its operations: from facilities to fan experiences.

Fans got a glimpse of the new space on social media, and the reaction matched the players’ enthusiasm. Comments flooded in with one-word responses like “Insane,” “Royalty,” and, most commonly, “That Dodger money hits different.”

With a roster stacked with stars and a facility fit for champions, it’s clear the Lakers are entering this season not just reloaded but revitalized.
