Unless you are living under a rock, there is no way you haven’t heard about the ‘Fake Klay Thompson’ story. It has been the talk of the town over the last couple of days.

Dawson Gurley, who is now better known as Fake Klay, is a YouTube, who well, shares a remarkable resemblance to Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson. Previously, he has been spotted numerous times in the crown of Golden State Warriors games.

But before Game 5 of the 2022 NBA Finals, Dawson decided it was time to step up his game. To do so, he snuck into the Chase Center and decided to put up some shots. It took the security about 10 minutes or so to realize that it wasn’t Klay Thompson who was putting up shots inside the arena.

They then proceeded to escort him out of the stadium. As a result of this act, Dawson has now been banned from the Chase Center forever. Following the incident, Dawson has the support of NBA fans.

Because he shared a video of how he got into the stadium. In the video, it was evident that he technically didn’t trespass into the stadium. Instead, the security never questioned him and he got past them pretty easily.

Despite that, he still has a lifetime ban for his actions. Now, Gurley has the sympathy of the NBA community, including NBA players and owners. Previously, Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai jokingly invited him to join the Nets.

Now, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Patrick Beverley has done something similar on Twitter.

“Ayo Fake Klay when the Timberwolves play Golden State next season, we need you on the Floor at Target Center gang.”

Dawson quickly responded to Beverley’s invite and said he will be there next season at the Target Center.

In the last couple of days, Fake Klay has gained a lot of attention from the fans. One might wonder if there are any other brave look-alikes of NBA players waiting for their shots to stardom? Well, you never know.
