Coby White was on the trade block with the Chicago Bulls last year, and going by his own form and the team’s struggle this season, an analyst proposed a theory that would send the guard to the Boston Celtics.
The Bulls selected White in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft, but his career has been plagued with injuries and inconsistency over the course of his tenure with the team.
Per Morton Jensen, who shed his thoughts on White on ‘The NBA Podcast,’ the 22-year-old would be a better fit with Boston.
“Coby’s value is all over the place apparently. But Coby White would be very interesting on this roster. Like, that is actually the kind of player that I think they could afford to get in and like incorporate into the wider scheme of the rotation.”
Here’s a quick look at the proposed trade theory:
Chicago Bulls Receive: Danilo Gallinari, Protected 1st Round Pick (2025)
Boston Celtics Receive: Coby White
The analyst noted that White’s ability to make plays on both ends of the floor would be a plus for the Celtics.
At the time of writing, he averages 8.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while shooting 36.3% of his threes.
The Bulls May Ship Their ‘Big 3’ Before The Trade Deadline
While White has been one of the names doing the rounds, recent reports have suggested that the front office might deal with the big names in the roster before the trade deadline.
DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic have constantly made headlines regarding their future in the Windy City and have been linked to multiple teams over the last few months. Per Chicago Sun-Times’ Joe Cowley:
“LaVine,DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic could all be discussed in trade scenarios and realistically be elsewhere when the deadline comes and goes… According to a source,Alex Caruso could be the one untouchable just because of how valuable he is defensively.”👀

At the time of writing, the Bulls are placed tenth in the East with a 22-25 run. They have lost two of their last five games and are looking to set the record straight as they gear up for the second half of the season.
Only time will tell if White is still part of their plans by the end of it all.
