Being in the NBA and being successful in the NBA are two different things. Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal certainly falls in the second category. Shaq enjoyed a lot of success in the league, be it in terms of winning or earning a lot of money.

Over his career, which lasted for 19 years he earned nearly $300 million. But after retiring from the league is when he truly earned his wealth. He turned his $292 million in career earnings to over $700 million by smartly investing into businesses. Moreover, he has used that money in a good way.

With the holiday season underway, it is time for celebrations for most, but not everyone has the luxury to do so. Shaq definitely understands that as he surprised underprivileged kids with amazing gifts for Christmas. He brought 1000 PS5s and Nintendo Switches and distributed them to kid in an elementary school.

Via Essentially Sports:

My father was a drill sergeant, my mother just was a hard-working woman. They had little, but they taught me the value of giving back. They taught me the value of helping those in need. I called you know, my friend from Nintendo Switch. Ordered about 1000 Switches and 1000 PS5s. I went to Walmart and got bikes. So you know yesterday, at this little elementary school in McDonough Georgia, kids were crying, kids were happy. And that’s what it’s all about.”

It was truly a great gesture from the NBA legend. We can’t imagine how happy this act from Shaq made those elementary school kids. There are only a select few who use their wealth to help others and Shaquille O’Neal is without a doubt among them.

Apart from being a generous gentleman, fans can find Shaq giving his opinion about the modern-day league on “NBA on TNT.”

Most recently, O’Neal praised two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo for winning an NBA Championship without a superteam. Considering that Shaq himself was never part of a superteam throughout his career and won four rings in his career, he must have felt really great about Giannis achieving this feat in a similar way.
